Ex Drummer review
Posted : 5 months ago on 4 July 2009 08:34
(A review of Ex Drummer)Take all sickipedia jokes and roll them into one. Stuff them with working class issues, season with a pinch of Danny Boyle's Trainspotting and sprinkle some of Palahniuk's pathology-driven themes. Bake for one hour forty in Jonas Akerlund's oven. Serve it cold and solid hard with loud punk rock garnish. N.B. This comes from the land of chocolate and pedophiles. 0 comments, Reply to this entry
2 Days in Paris review

(A review of 2 Days in Paris)Ten minutes in and I wanted to put all characters out of their misery. By far, the most annoying film I've seen in a while. I have yet to find a film of Julie Delpy's which is not an overpretentious indie flick with quirkier-than-thou dialogue that goes on forever. I'm hardly a fan of Before Sunrise/Sunset but continuous wanna-be Linklater babble is far worse! Some many times throughout the film I felt the urge to smack Julie Delpy's and Adam Goldberg's characters senseless and tell them to literally shut the fuck up. I should have expected this from a film that is both written and directed by Julie Delpy. I get a dish served cold, seasoned with failed attempts at humour, characterisation (which turns ridiculously wrong into pigeonholing the Americans and the French). Also, an unnecessary, clumsy and inconspicous display of Julie Delpy's political views in their entirety. 0 comments, Reply to this entry
